Homemade Egg Noodle Recipe

This is a really easy Homemade Egg Noodle recipe and it is fun to make too. When my grandmother and I would make these egg noodles, it was a great opportunity to talk about everything.

Don't miss the chance to talk together while you are cooking with your children. Keep the conversation lighthearted and it will be easier for your children to come to you with the more sensitive matters as they grow older.

These egg noodles taste so great as they are fresh and really good in a Chicken or Beef Noodle Soup. Just follow these directions for a simple Homemade Chicken Soup Starter as well.

 

Ingredients:
1 egg, beaten
2 T. milk
½ t. salt
1c. flour


Instructions:
Combine egg, milk and salt. Stir in enough flour to make stiff dough. Cover and let stand a few minutes.

On a floured surface, roll dough in a thin rectangle. Let stand 20 minutes, Roll up loosely and cut noodles into ½ inch slices.

Unroll, cut in desired lengths and spread out to dry for 2 hours. Now your noodles are ready to be added to your favorite soup recipe.

NOTES:

Grandma adds a can of Cream of Mushroom Soup and 1/2 can of evaporated milk to the Beef Noodle Soup when adding the homemade egg noodles.


As I grew older, I could talk to my Grandma about anything, because we built a bond doing simple things like making homemade egg noodles together. Talk about a delicious Chicken Noodle Soup made with her homemade egg noodle recipe on a cold winter day. Marvelous!
