Oatmeal Cookies Recipes

These Old Fashioned Oatmeal Cookies recipes are really good. I like to add different ingredients to make a really unique cookie each time. Here are a few variations on Old Fashioned Oatmeal Cookies as our family does like to experiment.

The history of oats dates back to Germany in 1000 B.C. Oats has a bland flavor on its own and most people viewed it as "a food more suited for animals."

However, beginning in the 1980's, oats were boosted to "health food" status by research suggesting that a substance in it helped prevent heart disease.

So eating oats can be beneficial for you and if you like Old Fashioned Oatmeal Cookies, you can enjoy a great tasting treat as well.
