Whole Wheat Sourdough Bread
This is a wonderful Whole Wheat Sourdough Bread to use with our Sourdough Starter Recipe.
Whole wheat is really much healthier for us than refined flour, so feel good about providing a good healthy bread for your family.
Just follow the simple directions and you will have a tasty bread to enjoy with soups, sandwiches and much more.

Ingredients: 1 pkg. yeast 1 t. sugar 1 c. lukewarm water 2 c. sourdough starter (opt.) Mix the above ingredients together and let stand until it foams up.
Instructions: Heat the following and then cool: 1 c. can milk ½ c. boiling water or 1 c. whole milk
When cool add: 1 or 2 eggs ¼ c. sugar or honey 1 t. salt ¼ c. melted butter or shortening.
Stir in yeast. Add 4-1/2 c. whole wheat flour - mix until stiff. Divide into two loaves. Let rise until double. Bake at 350° for 45 minutes.
